Pyroban’s Operations Director, Steve Noakes, has dedicated his career to keeping people safe in hazardous areas on a global basis. He has now been with Pyroban for more than 25 years and here, we look at some of his greatest achievements with us.

Having joined Pyroban in 1991 as an Intern Engineer, Steve Noakes has progressed through the company, now holding the senior position of Operations Director.

He has made many important contributions to Pyroban with highlights including setting up operations in other countries and leading the development of gas detection and control systems that keep people safe in potentially hazardous areas.

He has also contributed to the setting of various national and international quality and safety standards in relation to explosion protection and currently sits on the technical committee for BITA (British Industrial Truck Association) and BSI (British Standards Institution). His knowledge, experience and commitment has helped improve safety standards, with all companies in the industry having to abide by their standards to deliver products safely.

His work helps keep the global supply chains running for major multi-national brands producing chemicals, pharmaceuticals, whisky and oil and gas, as well as military applications (to name but a few).

Nurturing future talent

Steve has supported Brighton University and Portsmouth University as an industrial advisor for their Engineering degree courses. He has also supported the next generation of apprentices and engineers within the industry by recruiting and mentoring while supporting the institutes in the region that educate them.
