Careers that make a difference

For more than 50 years, Pyroban has been driven by a clear purpose of keeping people safe in potentially explosive atmospheres. Today, while the world and technologies have changed, the science and our purpose has not.

Working at Pyroban is more than a just a job. It’s a place where employees can thrive, develop and feel valued with all the resources and support needed to deliver on that purpose, every single day.

Explosion protection: A truly life-saving purpose

We literally prevent major industrial accidents from occurring all over the world, whether it’s on an oil rig in Asia, a distillery in Scotland, chemical factory in Poland or a sweet factory in the UK.

For every single role in the Pyroban team, from engineers, to stores, sales admin to production staff, working with Pyroban has a truly life-saving purpose.

Our employees’ diverse skills, backgrounds and perspectives are what has made Pyroban unique over the last 50 years. We work continually to help bring out the best in all of our people, helping them to reach their full potential, with plenty of opportunities for development. Achieve your potential and be inspired by colleagues in our diverse work environment.

Our aim is to make everyone feel empowered as an employee, giving people the opportunity to act fast and be agile in a collaborative working environment. Train, learn, professionally develop and be empowered to solve tough, real-world challenges in a culture that welcomes your ideas.

You’ll work alongside skilled and passionate colleagues who are dedicated to acting responsibly, collaborating effectively and doing things properly with pride, and having fun in the process.

  • Wellbeing solutions including activities outside of work. Park runs, rounders team and more
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – a day-to-day mental health, wellbeing and counselling service, that provides in the moment support to our employees and their immediate family, 24/7 and 365 days of the year
  • Life assurance (death in service) of 3 x annual basic salary

Across the organisation we have a culture of continual improvement and listening to employees to create positive and meaningful change. We recognise that our staff have an important voice that wants to be heard, usually within departmental meetings.

At Pyroban we go a step further and each quarter, our Managing Director Steve Noakes shares breakfast with a group of employees (a different mix each time) to give them the opportunity to share ideas, thoughts and provide honest feedback both positive and negative.

The aim is to get the team to talk freely about what they like and the daily challenges. It has been a huge success and in many cases has helped to drive genuine change. It also gives employees a chance to get feedback about certain decisions and explain why they can (or can’t) do certain activities in the business.

The health and wellbeing of our employees is an essential part of our daily culture along with the promotion of equality in the workforce, driven by diversity and inclusivity policies. All employees are treated with dignity and respect with equal employment opportunities given to all irrespective of their race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, maternity, marital status, family status, disability, age, or national origin.

In fact 50% of our leadership team is female and we have team members operating in different countries and from many different backgrounds.
