Pyroban is bringing a series of new explosion protection solutions to LogiMAT, designed for businesses supplying or operating with hazardous areas across Europe. The international trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management takes place on 25-27 April 2023 in Stuttgart, Germany.

“We are supporting many of our existing customers, and new ones, with a wider range of hazardous area products, services and bespoke Ex engineering,” says Darren Boiling, Materials Handling Sales Manager for Pyroban. “We have also made it easier than ever for businesses in mainland Europe to work with Pyroban.”

Since the 1970s, the Pyroban brand has been synonymous with Ex safety, in particular explosion proof (ATEX) forklift truck conversions, gas detection and Ex power systems offshore. Its products ensure that equipment cannot be the source of ignition if a flammable atmosphere develops in a warehouse or process area for example.

“We have made our product portfolio more relevant to Industry 4.0 and the needs of intralogistics businesses who happen to handle flammable materials,” says Darren explaining that explosion proof automation, robotics, AMRs and AGVs are now very much a reality.

Pyroban is supporting all types of businesses in their journey to ATEX compliance with Ignition Hazard Assessments (IHA), inspections, audits and practical Ex engineering solutions for all types of fixed plant and process equipment. This is something Pyroban has been doing for the last 50 years for its own products and conversions, but is now openly providing access to this unique mix of explosion proof engineering resources and experience. This includes both mechanical and electrical applications, coupled with a deep expertise in the application of EN / IEC 60079 and EN / ISO 80079 standards.

Pyroban can also provide customised Ex d enclosure population, electrical system design, explosion proof product development support and “fast-track” ATEX certification services for OEMs, many of which are at LogiMAT. Pyroban is also bringing IIoT(Ex) solutions and telemetry to ATEX areas, helping to connect hazardous area operations everywhere and reduce maintenance with touch, proximity, water, humidity and other microsensors.

Businesses looking to update or install Ex lighting systems can also benefit from Pyroban’s new lighting design and installation services that are ATEX compliant and energy efficient.

At LogiMAT Pyroban is ready to discuss easy shipping of trucks for customers in mainland Europe. The new service makes the shipping of parts and forklifts to and from the UK for ATEX conversion by Pyroban easier than ever.

“Many forklift OEMs and dealers located in mainland Europe are already enjoying a fast, high quality explosion protection conversion service from Pyroban,” says Darren. “Our transport solution builds on our experience of shipping hundreds of components and forklifts to mainland Europe from the UK since BREXIT.”

This new shipping solution is an integrated part of Pyroban’s offer to businesses in mainland Europe. Forklifts are able to move between EU/UK borders free of customs duty with the support of a dedicated Pyroban customs team that is on hand to support you.

“We can take care of everything to make it easy for our customers and give advice on the most efficient way to move goods around,” says Darren. “We have nominated transport companies to work with which give us fixed prices at competitive rates. They also handle customs clearance if necessary.  This service, in addition to our parts distributor AI2C in France, provides our European customers efficient routes to Pyroban’s products and services.”

Pyroban® returns to LogiMAT 2023 in Hall 10 where representatives will also discuss the conversion of all types and brands of materials handling equipment for ATEX Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22. Designed for safety and performance, Pyroban’s premium build quality helps deliver a low total cost of operation (TCO) and genuine ATEX compliance for total peace of mind in areas where there is a risk of explosion.

“Lifetime support and care programmes reinforce the customer experience alongside pro-active advice and consultancy from the very beginning,” says Darren, explaining that there is still significant market education to do about ATEX and the risks of using MHE equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres for end users, OEMs and dealers across Europe.

The team will share the latest updates on power options including the facts about Stage V ATEX forklifts and the risks of lithium-ion battery powered forklifts intended for use in hazardous areas.  Pyroban will also highlight the facts about the ATEX certification requirements for lead acid batteries.
