Visitors to this year’s ChemUK at the NEC, 10-11 May, will get a chance to see a new series of explosion protection solutions from Pyroban that support high-risk businesses in their journey to ATEX and IECEx compliance. ChemUK is reported to be the UK’s largest dedicated trade show for the chemical, laboratory and process industries.

Pyroban, best known for the explosion protection of forklift trucks used in chemical sites, has now expanded its offering and will further support all types of businesses with Ignition Hazard Assessments (IHA), inspections, audits and practical Ex engineering solutions for all types of fixed plant and process equipment.

For the first time, Pyroban’s comprehensive engineering capabilities and Ex experience across both mechanical and electrical applications, coupled with deep expertise in the application of EN / IEC 60079 and EN / ISO 80079 are now available to any business. This service is of increasing interest to UK chemical facilities looking to overcome their complex safety and Ex compliance challenges, whether driven by HSE recommendations, facility upgrades or growth.

In addition, Pyroban, based in West Sussex, UK, will provide customised Ex d enclosure population, electrical system design, explosion proof product development support and “fast-track” ATEX certification services for manufacturers supporting the chemical industry.

Pyroban is also bringing IIoT(Ex) solutions and telemetry to ATEX areas, helping to connect hazardous area operations everywhere and reduce maintenance with touch, proximity, water, humidity and other microsensors.

Pyroban at ChemUK - Ex Lighting

Businesses looking to update or install Ex lighting systems can also benefit from Pyroban’s new lighting design and installation services that are ATEX compliant and energy efficient.

Pyroban at ChemUK

Pyroban® will exhibit at ChemUK for the first time in Hall 1 where representatives will also discuss the conversion of all types and brands of materials handling equipment for ATEX Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22 areas. Designed for safety and performance, Pyroban’s premium build quality helps deliver a low total cost of operation (TCO) and genuine ATEX compliance for total peace of mind in areas where there is a risk of explosion.

“Lifetime support and care programmes for ATEX forklifts reinforce the customer experience alongside pro-active advice and consultancy from the very beginning,” says Darren, explaining that there is still significant market education to do about ATEX and the risks of using MHE equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres for end users, OEMs and dealers across Europe.

The team will also share the latest updates on forklift power options available to the chemical supply chain, particularly those that operate with diesel forklifts or are looking to switch to electric to reduce direct (tailpipe) emissions. The team will report on the facts about Stage V ATEX forklifts and the risks of lithium-ion battery powered forklifts intended for use in hazardous areas.  Pyroban will also highlight the facts about the ATEX certification requirements for lead acid batteries.
