Pyroban has achieved the Thrive at Work Foundation Level accreditation demonstrating our commitment to the health and wellbeing of Pyroban employees.

Thrive at Work is a workplace commitment with criteria and guidelines on creating a workplace that promotes and supports employee health and wellbeing, focusing on key organisational enablers of health such as mental, musculoskeletal, physical health and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Pyroban’s focus on health and wellbeing

We achieved this award because of our culture and processes, and we have done a lot of work that focuses on employee wellbeing, particularly during, and post, COVID. In fact, in a 2023 survey, 97% of our staff feel that the company takes positive action on health and wellbeing.

We have created greener office spaces, improved the working environment in production areas, provided a wellbeing room / library and encourage a number of social events including Park Runs, rounders and celebrations (Easter Egg hunt, Christmas celebration, significant years’ of service parties and more), cooking competitions and other challenges.

Furthermore, we have nine wellbeing champions across all areas of the business who play a key role in developing and supporting a culture that contributes to improved mental health and wellbeing. This is a culture driven from the top of the organisation with the Managing Director and the senior leadership team participating in Mental Wellbeing training to support the programme. We have also promoted the availability of onsite mental health first aiders.

All employees are made aware of relevant resources and services available in support and are invited to participate in wellbeing initiatives and challenges. We encourage role modelling and promote a healthy culture within the workplace, organising and promoting activities and events.

Katy Tyrrell, Head of HR at Pyroban comments: “We are delighted to have achieved the Thrive at Work Foundation Award.  This achievement demonstrates Pyroban’s ongoing commitment to employee health and wellbeing and building a positive workplace culture.  We are excited to implement a range of initiatives as we work towards the Bronze award and beyond.  Thank you to the team at Thrive at Work, especially Laura, for all the support.”
