Pyroban has spent decades developing its network to support explosion protection products on offshore oil and gas installations globally, often in remote areas. Here’s how.
“When Pyroban products are operating in significant oil and gas producing basins, it’s crucial for the success of those operations that they are supported throughout their lifecycle,” says Lewis Cleary from Pyroban’s EX Power Systems team (pictured in Australia).
“We design and build robust explosion proof solutions in the UK, yet when they’ve been operating offshore for long periods, wear and tear and general maintenance is essential for maximum uptime and optimum performance,” he says. “And the operation could be anywhere there is oil and gas.”
Pyroban’s first line of support is through equipment builders and authorised partners located close to the oil producing regions, many of which are remote areas. With training and full technical support, the Pyroban team has developed partners with the knowledge, experience and local capabilities needed to support the equipment safely.
Partners with deep regional knowledge
“Having partners that we can trust, with deep regional knowledge and that have been trained, and understand the complexities of Ex rotating equipment, is essential,” he says. “It means we can serve our customers in these areas where there may not be a critical mass of equipment, but where service and uptime remain critical.”
Pyroban has a series of authorised service providers for its products and components. They are trained and approved to supply, install and maintain Pyroban explosion protection kits, HazPaks and more, specifically designed for use in hazardous areas within the oil and gas industry.
Talk to the Pyroban team about local support in your area
“Our trusted partners are equipped to support safety and local compliance needs in each region, offering a full suite of explosion protection solutions in line with international best practices,” he says. “This means there is faster access to genuine Pyroban products, replacement parts and technical support to keep operations moving where safety is paramount.”
And when our partners need even more specialist expertise, the Pyroban team is ready in support with certificates and survival training for on and offshore operations. Here is an example of Pyroban’s Martyn Ballinger on an FPSO in the Middle East (2024).

“Our partners are dedicated to making their regions a safer place to operate offshore, with trusted solutions from Pyroban,” Lewis adds. Pictured is a recent training course taking place in China for Pyroban’s Ex-SCS, safety control system for ATEX engines (2024).
