PYROBAN® SPARKS EXPLOSIVE QUESTIONS AT AUSTRALIAN OIL SHOW

UK based,  explosion protection specialist, Pyroban Ltd, focuses on the safety of oilfield service equipment used in the Australian oil and gas industry at this year's APPEA ( Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association) Conference and Exhibition in Perth , April 6th-9th 2008.

In the wake of several major industrial accidents  across the world , explosion risk management processes are being improved in facilities  globally to help protect employees and corporate investments. But how are explosions prevented and are companies doing enough to ensure that local practices truly reflect corporate safety values? These are just two of the questions that Pyroban will be answering at the APPEA Exhibition where the company will be focusing on the operational realities of equipment operating within potentially explosive atmospheres .

Rob Double, responsible for Pyroban's business upstream, explains “ North Sea s afety standards are migrating across the world but there is still a lot of education that needs to happen concerning the safety of oil-field service equipment in some parts of the world. We find that there seems to be confusion about  terminology,  R ig -safe and Zone 2 for example,  which usually means that equipment such as coiled tubing units or HP pumps are used without adequate protection in hazardous areas.”

Pyroban can be found at stand 124 in the UK Pavilion at the Perth Convention Centre, where company representatives will offer advice about explosion proof safety. Visitors to the stand can expect to learn more about Zone 2*, the European ATEX** Directives (commonly referred to across the world) and the protection available to make equipment and employees safe. Pyroban will also be looking to compare Australian Standards with US and European Specifications.

Pyroban provides explosion proof safety solutions for customers all over the world particularly on diesel engines which contain numerous sources of ignition. Pyroban hopes to not only educate companies about safety and solutions at the APPEA conference, but also show its commitment to the Australian oilfield equipment market.
