DEFINITIE VAN ZONE 1 (ATEX 1999/92/EG): Een atmosfeer waarin de kans groot is dat een explosieve atmosfeer, bestaande uit een mengsel van lucht en brandbare stoffen in de vorm van gas, damp of nevel onder normaal bedrijf kan voorkomen.
