Electric Explosion Proof Forklift (3G Passive)

Ex-tec 3G is the 'alternative' Zone 2 solution for electric forklift trucks and warehouse equipment, combining various explosion protection methods.

Conversion, testing and certification take place at Pyroban factories ensuring the equipment is ATEX 94/9/EC compliant* or compliant to local regulations.

All ignition sources are protected so that the forklift truck is safe to operate in the presence of a flammable atmosphere. It is a passive system and is typically selected when the 'active' option of gas detection (system6000) cannot be used.

Ex-tec 3G explosion proof conversions usually refer to EU standard EN1755:2000+A1:2009 and are suitable for the latest counterbalance forklift trucks, pallet, stacker and reach trucks and order pickers, typically including:

Explosion proof Ex'nR' or Ex’d’ enclosures for arcing and sparking components
Surface temperature limitation to ensure the motors, brakes, electrics and other components remain below the auto ignition temperatures (T Class) of flammable materials
Stainless steel cladding of the forks
Ex'nA' or Ex’e’ motors
Ex'ic' or Ex’ib’ intrinsically safe circuits
Ex’m’ encapsulation
Ex'nA' or Ex’e’ battery fitted with Ex’d’ plugs and sockets
