Gascheka Duo

When you handle potentially hazardous materials, a risk assessment will define the high risk areas as either Zone 1 or Zone 2. Anywhere outside of these areas can potentially be classed as a safe area; however Pyroban strongly believe that there are no safe areas when handling potentially hazardous materials.

Gascheka Duo is our protection solution for these ‘safe’ areas, offering an Added Safety package to ensure you are fully protected wherever you are onsite. It is designed specifically to protect mobile equipment, including everything from materials handling equipment like forklift trucks and pallet stackers to vans and transportation vehicles. It is adaptable for both diesel and electrically powered equipment.

Gascheka Duo is our Added Safety conversion which protects your equipment with gas detection and automatic equipment shut down. Gascheka Duo is available as a comprehensive kit and can be fitted onsite, either by one of your own engineers or a Pyroban trained engineer.

The Equipment

Gascheka Duo offer gas detection and monitors the surrounding area with one of two gas sensing head technologies, Pellistor or Infrared. Pellistor and Infrared offer different degrees of protection for different gases, so it is important to select the correct gas sensing head for your application and risk. A control module provides an interface between the operator and the equipment and is fitted within easy reach of the operator. It is used to start the system and informs the operator when any gas is detected.

If a gas is detected at 10% LEL of propane in air, the Gascheka Duo control module will emit a visual and audible warning and the operator should remove the equipment from the area.

If the gas level rises to 25% LEL propane in air, Gascheka Duo will automatically bring the equipment to a controlled stop by switching off the engine and electrics, preventing the risk of explosion.

Continued Safety

Any equipment fitted with Pyroban Gascheka Duo requires a gas test before it will allow the vehicle to start up. The gas test is started automatically and takes between 30 and 120 seconds, depending on the type of gas sensing head. The gas test checks that the gas sensing heads are calibrated correctly, ensuring that your equipment is fully protected before operation begins.
